More Ice formations

Winter creeps closer

These fern like structures were formed in an old plastic tub after it had collected rain water and then frozen.

Spring is sprung

More Daffs push up through the slate, adding splashes of colour to the grey garden.

After three years of being weathered in, the stone work around my pond starts spring life of it's own.

Spring is finally here!

There's something really rewarding about planting something and watching it grow. These tiny Daffodils were planted last year and along with the bluebells are a welcome sight in the early days of Spring.

Death from above

Hugh likes nothing more on a nice day like this, than climbing up to head level in the tree and trying to bat you on the head with his claws. A close photo like this one does carry its own set of risks to the taker.
Luckily for me the neighbours dog diverts the killer Mink long enough for me to get out of harms way.

Maisey

The sound of fat, rolling fish catches Maisey's attention and warrants a closer examination.
Being a rescue cat, her hunting instincts were well and truly honed by the time I got her. Unfortunately for me, she taught them all to Hugh, who now brings in at least a mouse a day.

The day of the Triffids

I had to take a picture of this because I couldn't believe how much this Flag Iris had grown over the last two years. It had quite taken over and had to be split or else it would have consumed the entire pond. Luckily for me, quite a few of my friends have now got ponds themselves and all off cuts were found new homes......little do they know what they are letting themselves in for.

The hidden Tortie

Jess hides to show that even naughty Torties can blend into their surroundings with purrfect camouflage.
Oh there she is........thank god.

The early morning sun trap

Tiny, shy Jess is caught on camera as she soaks up the early morning sunshine.

Whereas big Maisey hasn't a care in the world and just wallows in it, stretching out on the warm slates.

One sunny morning in a tiny garden

My love for all things Roman has spilled out into my garden, so when I saw these two little Olive trees going for a steal, I had to bag'em. These pots hanging on the fence catch the sun all day and nothing could grow in the intense heat, Until I had the idea of planting some Alpines in them. Alpines love the dry sunny conditions and they thrived. I mixed the soil with sand to give better drainage, this was back in the summer and they're still going great guns. I love the way the pots are turning green with algae. Hugh, the magical talking witches cat, finally puts the last stone block into place on his new improved stone pentagram. What he intends to use it for, he won't say. I have a pretty good idea though after the last one.

Yes, more cat photo's

Here Maisy searches the white tundra for any signs of her black nemesis. Hugh on the other hand, has learnt his strengths and stays out of the white stuff and sticks to the shadows. It works every time.

Winter Camouflage!

This is Hugh's second winter and to my surprise, he loved the snow, digging around in it and chasing snowballs, he had a great time. Oh yes...and tasting it of course..well why not.

Maisy the snow cat.

Here are some great pictures of the cats after it had snowed for three days in Feb, Global warming you say...who knows, but yes quite. Anyway, here she is taking in the new surrounding for the first time, unaware of the evil green eyes, watching her from the shadows.
Rule number one about having an evil step-brother cat, never turn your back on him especially when it has just snowed. She soon paid for her mistake!

Roman pictures

Here are a couple of Roman illustrations I drew for a game I designed. Most of the illustrations for the game are quick pen or pencil sketches, but with these two I had alittle more time and so coloured them in Photoshop.

Old Birthday cards

Here are a couple of old Birthday cards I've had stuck on the fridge for years (hence their condition). The first was for a friends baby boy who was one at the time and because of her love of badgers, It could be nothing else. The way things are going I might have to change the name of this Blog to The cute draw or something more fitting.

This old guy is the Shackman and I designed him for a TV series pilot show, which in the end was never comissioned. This card was drawn for the guy who worked on the pilot with me and who had a passion for canoing. Here the shackman has destroyed his beloved shack and beaten it into a canoe.
